Casey Ng ¶À³ß¦è

Mr. Ng has been with our Orchestra for about 20 years. Over these years, he has multiple roles in our Orchestra, such as; a conductor, a percussion and a pluck string instructor. He has been our conductor ever since the establishment of our Orchestra. Under Ng's guidance, the Orchestra has make tremendous improvement over the years. Not only does Ng couch us in music but he goes beyond his means to teach us and guide us about life and therefore he gained respect from all of the members.

Ng's excellent conducting skills are smooth, swift and filled with emotions. Ng's unique teaching methods enable our members to build up their interest and love for chinese classical music. His friendly and easy going personalities aid him to establish close and good relationships with the members. Under his guidance, many of Ng's yangqin students were able to achieve outstanding acheivements, and musical award.

 

Ng has about 30 years of experience in yangqin and he is well-known for his yangqin and percussion. In 1985, Ng obtained first prize in the Open Category Competition in the instrument of Yangqin. Under Ng's leadership, the plucking assemble of the Keat Hong Chinese Orchestra came in overall champion for 4 consecutive times in 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993 and at the same time, they also obtained the best performance award. Furthermore, there were also many good comments from the judges from China. Ng is often as soloist, lead performace or a conductor in most of the concerts. Ng is also often invited to many places of Singapore to perform .

Ng has also many oversea performing experience .Ng has represented the Singapore Tourism Board to perform overseas on many occasion such as in Switzerland, United States of America, England, Los Angeles, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, North America, Sri Lanka and etc.....In addition, he has been invited to Switzerland, London and Malaysia and many more.

Throughout his constant couching in Si Ling Seconary School, we were able to achieve medals such as distinction and merit awards. Our percussion assemble received a silver award in the SYF 1997.

Under his leadership, our school not only proudly obtained many awards and at the same time staged many sucessfull concerts in threatres such as Victoria and the Old Singapore Conference Hall. the Orchestra also went to Sarawak in Malaysia for a 4 days concert.

Currently, he is the conductor and the instructor for numerous schools, such as; Bukit Batok Secondary School, Jurong Ville Secondary School and etc...Besides concentrating in schools, he is also an instructor and concert master for the Keat Hong Chinese Orchestra. All these roles enable him to promote chinese classical music to the younger generations.
