Rules And Regulations

1. This forum is dedicated to the study of the world's Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) which includes their equipment, organization, history, etc. Threads may be started out of these topics but must remain military focused. This is the case for the main forum and all the sub-regional forums. However, the threads may remain there at the discretion of moderators/administrators or owner.

2. People of widely varying nationalities, ages and educational levels visit this forum. Therefore, participants are expected to treat each other with dignity and respect. Passionate, even heated debate is welcome but messages which descend to personal insults, name-calling or similar abuse will be deleted. Participants who routinely abuse other members will be warned. Failure to modify behavior will result in loss of posting privileges.

3. The forum generates a large amount of message traffic. Consequently some threads may wander off the original topic. Posters are encouraged to use good judgment when replying to an existing thread as it may be better to start a new thread.

4. This forum exists to facilitate the public exchange of information about the world's Armed Forces. However, the owner of "World's Armed Forces'' website retains the right to delete/lock/moderate any messages or threads deemed inappropriate (e.g. off-topic, `flames' and offensive) by himself or his designated moderators/administrators.

5. Promotion of commercial sites or products is not permitted.

6. Do not post topics or replies containing:
- Subjects which have already been discussed numerous times (please `search' first, as these topics are locked on sight at the discretion of the owner and moderators/administrators)
- Flames/perceived flames directed towards other users (deleted on sight, possibly with a temporary ban). Moderators/Administrators will use their discretion on this matter. We reserve the right to decide if the offending remarks stay or do not.
- Anything not relating to the original subject of the topic/forum (although General Discussion is rather flexible).
- Images/documents linked from other sites without their permission (simply giving a URL is much more polite). However, we are flexible on this issue if the respective owners of these sites do not have have problems with it.
- Any discriminatory comments based on age, gender, race, ethnicity or nationality, religion, etc (which could be met with a swift ban).

7. Do not post spam.
- Spam includes advertisements, content deemed inappropriate or illegal; and flooding of the boards.

8. Ensure that your signature:
- Remains a reasonable size;
- Does not contain excessively large images or annoying animations;
- Follows all the rules applying to posts themselves.

9. Do not argue with the enforcement of the above rules and regulations.
-If any moderator/administrator or the owner tells you to comply with any one of these rules, you must comply. If you are rude/uncivil to any of the moderators/administrators, you will be given an instant temporary ban. The `Suggestions and Complaints' Forum is the correct avenue to air your complaints but do so in a civil manner.

10. Errant posters will be warned 3 times before receiving a temporary ban of 1-2 weeks. However, moderators/administrators will use their discretion on this issue befitting the situation. A poster who fails to comply with the rules upon his/her reinstatement will be banned again for a longer period of time and perhaps, permanently in some cases.

11. Posters are reminded that moderators or administrators who par-take in any discussions do so at the expense of their authority. This is to say that they surrender their moderating or administrative powers when they participate/debate in a particular thread and will be regarded as normal posters (unless the situation is deemed critical enough for the said moderator/administrator to act quickly; but justification will have be made). Another administrator/moderator will have to adjudicate that thread if the situation calls for it.

12.Please provide a link/referrence to all articles posted. If the information is from a book, the referrence must be there. If it is from a periodical, the name and date of the periodical must be there as well.

13. Enjoy the World's Armed Forces Forums! If you have any problems, just make a post in the appropriate forum and somebody will be glad to help you.
