Faith began her singing career when she was seven years old, singing at a 4-H Club Mother-Daughter luncheon. From that date on she sang for little groups and her church.
In 1993 she released her first single, Wild One. Shortly afterward it reached number one on the Billboards Country Singles Chart. On January 21, 1994, Faith Hill made country music history by being the first female country singer to hold Billboards number one position for four consecutive weeks with a single since 1964.
Faith toured extensively in 1994 and 1995 with Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson and George Strait. In 1996 she played over 140 dates in the United States with Tim McGraw, a tour that turned out to be one of the top grossing tours of the year. In May 1996 Faith, along with Warner Bros. Records and Time Warner, launched the Faith Hill Family Literacy Project, intended to help fight illiteracy worldwide.
Faith performed in the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. Her appearance was watched by over 3.5 billion viewers.
